More Evidence. Slower Audit.

Sending more files can make an audit request harder to resolve.
A green dashboard checkmark on a curtain conceals disorganized evidence papers.

Sending more files can make an audit request harder to resolve. If the reviewer can't tell which record covers the system, period, and action in question, the pile creates more questions. A defined request and review trail can spare both sides another round of email.

An evidence request needs more than an upload box. Someone must own the response, understand its scope, and know when the reviewer needs clarification. Without that workflow, the same request keeps returning in different email threads.

AIC includes audit engagements, evidence requests, attachments, comments, owner assignment, and assessor review workflows. These give the customer and its providers a shared way to work through a request instead of sending an unstructured folder at the end.

For the access-review example, define the systems and review period first. Assign the person responsible for the response. Attach the supporting record, keep the reviewer's questions with it, and preserve the clarification that resolves the request. The next person should be able to follow the exchange without attending the original meeting.

Controlled auditor access also needs a deliberate disclosure scope. An assessor should receive the records appropriate to the engagement, not every operational detail simply because the software can collect it.

This is where integrated GRC can reduce preparation work: configuration-check results and privileged-access records become attachments to an assigned evidence request, with reviewer comments retained alongside them. If an external platform already runs the engagement, retain it and agree how exported findings and privileged-activity records will reach its evidence requests.

Collecting evidence during normal work is less disruptive than pulling engineers away from their jobs to rebuild it just before an audit. Start with a defined engagement and a repeatable evidence workflow. The guides and training included with AIC help the team learn that process. Reusing evidence requests, owner assignments, attachments, and review comments can reduce staff time spent preparing for review.

Bring a recurring evidence request to an AIC demonstration. We'll follow ownership, attachment, clarification, and review so you can judge whether the workflow would shorten your next audit-preparation cycle. Bring your assessor's difficult requests as well. We want the workflow to serve the people doing the review, and their feedback matters.
