A long security feature list can conceal a short but expensive question: who does the remaining work? A capability might perform a technical action, assist a person, or retain evidence of a process. Knowing the difference makes a CMMC kit easier to deploy and use.
AIC CMMC Complete™ is customer-deployed commercial software offered in Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 kits. The kit structure builds on the preceding level. The requirement mappings identify where configuration checks, access controls, training assignments, attestations, and the Assessment Binder contribute to each requirement.
Use that mapping as a working discussion with your IT staff and MSP. For each requirement, identify whether the kit performs a supported technical action, assists a person carrying out the work, or stores the evidence of an organizational process. Then name the person responsible for the remaining work.
For example, a configuration check can identify a supported setting that needs attention. A training workflow can organize assignments and attestations. Neither substitutes for deciding who is authorized to administer the system or for making sure the right people receive the training. Those decisions belong in the deployment plan.
Keep current capability separate from planned coverage. Ask to see the function on the operating systems and access paths you intend to use. An integrated kit reduces the number of separate tools to connect, but the customer and its selected providers still own deployment, configuration, and FCI/CUI data migration.
Use your contract and assessment requirements to define the systems, people, and processes your deployment needs to cover.
The point of an off-the-shelf kit is to avoid building the entire stack yourself. AIC brings configuration checks, privileged-access controls, training records, and the Assessment Binder together, with free guides, cookbooks, recipes, and training materials. Start with the deployment and operating tasks that apply to your boundary. Your team doesn't have to understand every setting in every module before learning a useful, repeatable procedure. Verify that procedure on your systems and expand from there.
Bring a short list of requirements to a demonstration. We'll walk through their capability mappings, show the mapped configuration check, access control, or evidence record, and identify the responsibilities your team needs to plan for. If your use case is complicated, bring it. Those are the conversations we value, and your experience helps shape improvements.
